Why?
"Why, mother, why can't there be peace?
To keep us together, for the lives that we keep?
Why, mother, why can't there be just love?
To spring from the trees and loom just above?
Why, mother, why can't there be no worries?
To just take our time to finish our quarries?
Why, mother, why can't people forgive?
If they cannot, what's the point to live?
Why, mother, why can't there be no regret?
To our past, to the secrets we kept?
Oh, why, mother, why can't we be happy?
With nothing a bother, and everything sappy?
Mother, oh mother, I'm not sure I can bear...
To live in this world with the lives that we share...
It's too much, all of this pain.
Why, mother, why can't it wash away with the rain?"
