    Poem Commentary

Try and see where I used symbolism :)

    Colors

As blue splashes across the canvas
As it fades from the years
    As it lays there, waiting
For the next layer to be applied

As red struts across the paper
Flaunting assets with a knowing smirk
As it taps its feet, impatient
For the next layer to be applied

As purple flows against the sketchpad
    Graceful, sleek, and lithe
Dances, oblivious yet knowing not waiting
For the next layer to be applied

As black seethes as it is forced
    Shoved onto its place
As it wants to cry out, but needs to wonder when
For, the next layer will be applied

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
