What You Said

Poem Commentary

Uhm . . . I have no idea. XD It just came to me during school.

What You Said

I know what you said,
And I know you meant it,
So just leave,
And don't look back,
Because I won't be here for you.
Don't look back, don't regret,
I will be fine, so don't you fret.

I know all that you said,
I heard you talking to her,
I don't wanna hear it anymore,
Just leave, leave, leave me here,
I don't care if I'm here to die,
I just want you to leave,
Never look back,
Don't ever try to come back.

I know what you said,
And I know you meant it.
Of all the times you talked to me,
I know that half of it was lies.
Don't try to lie to me,
If you can't say the truth,
Then just leave, leave, leave me here.
I don't care if I'm here to die.

I know what you said,
It can't affect me anymore,
Leave, just leave, don't even look back.
I won't be here if you try to come back.
So just leave, move on with your life.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
