Fade
Coldness seeps into my heart,
Numbing my soul,
My soul yeanring for something
It can never have
A yearning for warmth and happiness,
Instead of paralyzing emptiness,
Cold that cannot go away,
In soul, heart, and mind
Sometimes it evaporates,
To nothing but a sliver,
I revel in the warmth,
The almost normalness of the day
But too soon does that fade,
Back to the crystalized ice,
That replaced who I am,
No longer am I me,
But someone alien and foreign,
If it weren't for hope,
If not for courage or cowardess,
I would forever be gone,
Not just in soul,
But also in body
Numbing my soul,
My soul yeanring for something
It can never have
A yearning for warmth and happiness,
Instead of paralyzing emptiness,
Cold that cannot go away,
In soul, heart, and mind
Sometimes it evaporates,
To nothing but a sliver,
I revel in the warmth,
The almost normalness of the day
But too soon does that fade,
Back to the crystalized ice,
That replaced who I am,
No longer am I me,
But someone alien and foreign,
If it weren't for hope,
If not for courage or cowardess,
I would forever be gone,
Not just in soul,
But also in body
