    Her Smiles Don't Last

    She smiles where it's needed,
    Never lasting for long,
    She's solemn and sad,
It's hard to make her mad,
    She can't hold a grudge
    For very long

    She won't budge
    On her opinion,
    She's artistic and creative,
She's an artist and a writer,
    She's strong and independent,
    She's like a lost child

    She's brave and caring,
She's got her head in the clouds,
She wishes she were someone else,
    She's beautiful on the outside,
    Horrible on the inside

    She's corrupted and mean,
    She denies every compliment
    People give her,
    She hates the questions
    People throw at her

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
