    Never Perfect Enough

    I'm sorry I can't be perfect,
Not the way you want me to be,
    I'm not that way,
    Not perfect enough for you,
Not ever perfect enough for anybody

    I'm only human,
    I can't be perfect,
    So why even try,
Can't you get it and accept it,
    I'm sorry I can't be perfect,
No matter how much I try,
I'm never good enough for you

The old me is dead and gone,
And I can't be perfect anymore,
    I'm sorry I can't be perfect,
At least not the way you want me to be,
Never been perfect enough for you,
    Never perfect enough for anybody

And now I'm not sorry I was never perect enough,
    Because I'm perfect to myself,
But I'll never be perfect enough for you

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
