Little Girl
I FEEL LIKE A LITTLE GIRL,
WAITING FOR HER DADDY TO COME HOME,
TO COME AND TAKE HER FEARS AWAY,
BUT HE NEVER COMES,
HE'S NEVER THERE,
AND SOON SHE FORGETS
WHAT IT WAS LIKE
TO HAVE A DADDY
SHE'S STILL SITTING THERE,
STILL WAITING FOR HIM,
SO SHE CAN REMEMBER
WHAT HE WAS LIKE,
TO HAVE HER FEARS TAKEN AWAY,
TO FEEL THE COMFORT HE GIVES HER
AND HE'S STILL NOT THERE,
HE'S STILL NOT HOME,
SHE'S WAITING ON A RAINY DAY,
AS SHE STARES AT THE CLOUDS,
SHE WONDERS WHAT SHE DID WRONG,
TO HAVE NO MOMMA,
TO HAVE NO DADDY,
WHO LOVES HERENOUGH TO EVER COME HOME.
SO SHE STAYS THERE,
THE DAYS COME TO PASS,
CLOUD OVER THE SUN,
SHE'S ALMOST GIVEN UP HOPE,
BUT SHE SITS THERE, FAITHFULLY,
WAITING FOR DADDY
TO COME HOME
TO COMFORT HER,
TO TAKE HER FEARS AWAY
I FEEL LIKE A LITTLE GIRL
ALL ALONE AND LOST IN THE WORLD
WITHOUT MY DADDY HERE
TO HELP AND COMFORT ME
