    Think like you

Teachers, books and lessons so pointless to me
I’d rather learn on my own then have them make me see
Time ticks away in this place away from home
    Let me learn by myself
Let me teach on my own
They make you think the way they see
They let me be everything but me
I have my own mind and think they way I do
I’m thankful for your help but I don’t think like you.

I would definitely concur with those sentiments. In the educational program I've started, I try to get students to put their own identity in each subject and activity. Learning cannot be achieved without identification with the subject.

My prf. said I here to teach you how to learn the rest is up to you ... I have some other thoughts along this line for later ..

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
