    School

    Chills running up my arms
This place cold leaving my brain numb
Concentrating on sleep and nothing else
I sit in a crowd all by myself
    Everybody seems to be somebody
In the group of somebody’s, I’m nobody
    Information said but nothing comprehended
I’m breathing but I know my life has ended
Everyone in this place is like a zombie
They’ve all been brainwashed with thoughts that aren’t theirs
Sit row by row and walk in a disorganized way
Only to know they’ll be doing it again the very next day

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
