The Three Plus One
sometimes I count them
other times they are one
tongues in cheeks
choosing sides when we were young
and all possible combinations thereof
civil wars within the family
as to balance the powers
all battles hard fought
but never won
an unspoken loyalty
fighting just for fun
and something never changes---
within my three brothers
and me, the other
1992
other times they are one
tongues in cheeks
choosing sides when we were young
and all possible combinations thereof
civil wars within the family
as to balance the powers
all battles hard fought
but never won
an unspoken loyalty
fighting just for fun
and something never changes---
within my three brothers
and me, the other
1992
