The Toddler
up at the crack of dawn
we yawn
and behold you
standing in your crib
you grin
it must be a sin---
to be happy like that, so early
the world is yours
to explore
Everything we own is yours
guaranteed and insured
so why are you so hell bent
to destroy it?
for God's sake
please use the toilet
into something again
you grin
our babe of a thousand faces
you win
Who could resist your charms?
we'll watch all the while
Please sleep in my arms
you smile
surely you jest?
into something again
just a little rest?
with no timeouts
How in the world?
