R: The sun just settled beyond Catalina and I'm lying down next to "you know who"!

3rd time this month.. I've caught myself... on the shady side of Malibu.

1) On the shady side of Malibu , I  can escape myself alright.

But what I done just comes back to me , just before daylight.

The one at home who's waitin' for me would never understand.

And if she knew , I know she'd feel...I'm lesser of a man.

But on the shady side of Malibu, It's "anything I can"

2)The shady side of Malibu resides in every town.

For anyone who dares  .. when they are feeling down.

The shady side of Malibu exists in every frown..

 'cuz when I awake on the shady side

the sun is just going down.

3)This is not a place I want to be

as circumstances can recall.

Just a place that I end up ..shortly after the fall. Then the sun comes up and I wish .. I were anywhere else at all.
