Sight
When I was born my eyes could see,But I, however, saw nothing.
As I grew in the flesh,
I noticed things were askew,
Of this I still saw nothing.
During dating, marriage then divorce
I'd hurt and then I hurt,
Of this....I still saw nothing.
Chemicals and escapes would wreak their wrath,
I for sure saw nothing.
Of this I died to myself and world,
And still, could hardly view that I was still seeing nothing.
Passing mid-life around the block talking , taking, sulking, balking,
But never walked the walk.
"You've got to see before you walk",
Someone SPOKE to me.
Now I could barely see.
In silent prayers my eyes were shut
But I could clearly see.
It was not my eyes that kept me blind,
Blind from all the light.
When the prayers were answered and I awoke,
I then realized...
I had gained my SIGHT!
