Poem Commentary

By: DeanPeter-( Ciokiewicz) in the aftermath of Japan's earth quake.. the World's earth quake. "God rest the souls of all who lost their life, tend to the survivors thereof, Amen!"- Rev.DeanPeter(Teacher on the Rock)

" ...And Mother Earth Rumbled!"

Silence, silence, silence or the calm before the storm.
Fidgety animals, nervous, certainly not the norm'.

She hollers, he cries no sound of buzzing flies.
If they but knew certainly they would deny.

At first it's the shoes sending them news..
Ole Mother Earth's about to break loose.

Suddenly their feet were not underneath the rest of them like before.
They hasten retreat, feel the heart beat ,but now they can't find the door.

Glass is crashing, beams are tested, minds switch to panic.
A glance at other faces now sees the traces ole' Mother Earth's gone manic.

"Where are my children?" Momma is thinking. The answer she'd like to know.
"That DAMNED cigar stub" Grandpa is blinking, wanting to run, but THAT was long ago.

Havoc, till now, was something that happens to the neighbor down the street.
But, there is no denying Mother Earth's testifying to the truth below their feet.

Their time here on earth has now but moments where seconds ago and yore,
life was forever, and people grew old....and then.. That KNOCK on life's door.

So many are gobbled up and in, down and around, death becomes the fare.
Another glance, if they survived by chance would reveal orbs in a stare.

Violence, violence, violence in the natural sense of the Word.
Only "Revelations", quite possibly, can explain something so absurd.

Nothing can be done for those now He's taken
for Mother Earth has only but yawned, won't stop till she's fully awakened, and a new day has dawned.
