    Temptation

    My insecurities are on high alert
    Your temptations are booze & weed
    both wrapped in a short skirt.

    You tell me not to worry-impossible.
    Cuz you plus those three things
    is a recipe for trouble.

    You tell me that you love me-that I can't deny
    but if you love me as you say you do,
    you wouldn't make me cry.

    A whirlwind of emotions swells up inside
    I'm looking for someplace to go;
    searching for a place to hide.

    A part of me has this inkling; a temptress may be in the midst
    Contemplating my next move;
    Yielding my anger not to my fists.

    When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
