Legend of the enchanted river
Enchanted river legend goes
enchanting as the river flows
Of love's first sight, by magic spun
To those by whom her charms be won
With gentle murmurs flowed the tide
While, by the fragrant orchids side,
A lovely maiden’s voice did play
A lilting song, of words so gay
The knight’s roaming and am'rous eye
Along the banks, beheld her hie
Filled, was he, with adoration
Beauty held his fascination
(He)
‘Hail to ye, young songstress of kind
No such beauty this eye did find
Before I chanced your purity
Lost from the heavens, must ye be!”
With crimson flushed her silken cheek
A virgin smile shown sweet and meek
damp tresses wisped from cupid’s face
Shown beauty of breathtaking grace
(She)
‘Oh, were to God thy dreams be true !
Tis on this day , I visioned you
Within the river's flow I pray
To me true love would come and stay”
(He)
“Fret not, beloved one, hail me!
The riches in this land, I be
I take thy hand with promised love
to cherish evermore, my dove”
Began that day, tru love most real
between the two, it's depth they feel
the truest love and tenderness
Enchanted river be witness .
enchanting as the river flows
