A rose will have to do
Come fly away with melet the wind set you free
I'm looking to steal your heart
with my charming love art
I caught a star along our way
sprinkled it's dust to light our view
my aim is to lead you astray
into these arms reseved for you
But if's not to be
this tender you and me
well, then I suppose
you can just buy me a rose
Why can't you see as I do
that my love is meant for you
no two can blend as we
into love so perfectly
But if it's not to be
this beautiful you and me,
then I suppose
you can just buy me a rose
A rose of crimson red
to lay upon my lonely bed
on that pillow next to me
as close as we'll ever be
A crimson rose, red as my heart
like my heart, it's petals fall apart
falling away into misery
for a love that's not to be
How I dreamed you'd come to me
and give me love so tenderly
but if dreams are just dreams
and they just are, so it seems
then I suppose
you can just buy me a rose.
