Fallen Leaf

This poem is called Fallen Leaf

Our lives are like fallen leaves
Because when a loved one dies we all grieve
As the leaf blows along with the dust
Hopefully it comes back to the One we all trust
You know the One (God) with all power in His hand
Because while you were on earth
He wanted you to understand
That your life can be shaken just like a leaf
So please go to Jesus before you are deceased

This is a short, powerful piece. I'm scared of death because my father is in stage four cancer of the liver right now but I choose to believe he is healed, through God. We just haven't been told yet. This Fallen Leaf, is so beautiful, yet scary to me. It really hits home. I'm sure others will like it just as much. Wonderfully written.

I couldn't help but think of an old hymnal, Come to Jesus, while reading your poem. It's simple, gentle, encouraging, and packed with force. I Like it

a Fallen Leaf hold so much truth to it. I wish there were words to express how this one hs brought a little more peace to the voids in my heart from my loved ones who have been calle home, again, I thank you!

True, so true, like your comparison to a leaf. Time is so precious and short, we don't ever know when that day will come, I remember old folks always say he's coming you never know when so you have to be ready.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
