The Rose
So sweet so beautifulBut painful when pricked
So soft so serene
So carefully picked.
Hold those petals close
Only a few come along
Stay with that flower
Til they're all gone
But be careful
You have been warned
For every rose
Every rose has its thorns
Painful, bloody, real
Vicious, unexpected
Beauty and pain
Virtually undetected.
But do not be fooled
It's clearly seen
But such beauty comes with a mask
Vanity can be truly mean
The rose as whole
So wonderful and smooth
But break it down
And you are likely one to lose
