Dues Excelsior!
Deus excelsior!
God on upward
Un Deus excelsior!
Forever more
God raised up on high!
Lord exclaimed forever.
God boasted broadly!
For each endeavor.
Practical God,
Daily my use,
Mundane mystical,
Upon my noose.
Everyday I crave for you,
To be near to theosis;
And be Godlier still.
I desire for that closeness.
Just, merciful, compassionate,
Patient, meek, and fair.
Slow to anger, and fast unto grace.
I crave to be there.
Dues excelsior!
My Lord and my light.
I'm Deus excelsior!
Raise me up to your heights!
There will be pain.
There shall be loss.
But with help of God,
I take up my cross!
The pain of existing.
My trials; my strife...
I give into Him my all.
My suffering; my life.
He never said it is easy.
He never said simple and fair.
He promised: "I'd love you forever."
Not unlabored and not without wear.
He said it is hard!
This life comes with trial.
But He promised upon death,
It will be worth all the while.
Deus excelsior!
The true God lifted higher.
Un Deus excelsior!
My life laid upon His pyre.
I offer you my soul;
What little I have to give thee.
A relationship with God;
A bond of sonship eternally.
My good works and deeds
Only done for Him.
My purpose is the Lord.
Dedication; not whim.
Lord of all creation,
Messiah, Savior, most just,
The Spirit: living grace,
The One who gave it all for us.
Three persons, one being.
The Holy Trinity most true.
God of mercy, of love
The rightful God! I worship you.
Deus excelsior!
God lifted up most rightly!
Un Deus excelsior!
Bond me to thee more tightly!
