The Basilisk
Born from the yoke-less egg of a hen.Hatched by a toad's cold pimply skin.
Body of a serpent,
Wings of a bat,
Head of a rooster,
Hiss of a cat.
Deathly glare;
Kills just by glance.
Don't forget a mirror!
Don't take that chance!
Deadly venom
Phoenix tears will heal.
Nothing else will save you
Of the painful ordeal.
Spiders flee
At the sound of its name.
Crow of a rooster
Its life to claim.
Killed by weasels' bite,
Killed by a roosters' crow,
Killed by its own stare,
But nothing else though.
Wilts crops by stench alone
A look sends livestock to hell.
And weasel eating rue
Is all that's left to tell the tale.
Be wary young miners;
Be fearful of the cave!
For a lurking Basilisk,
Will send you to an early grave...
