The Day I Died

The Day I Died

The Day I Died

The EKG beeps a little slower each time,

Smart doctors puzzled at the sight of this guy.

Too young to be dying, not old, or in season,

No medical diagnosis, no predetermined thesis,

What the hell is the matter, just what is the reason?

Why won’t he wake, and why can’t he move?

Why can’t we save him, well what can we do?

Brightest minds of the profession, no ideas from the testing

No movement, no life, I look like I’m resting.

But no I’m not resting, I’m going home now

They all want to stop it, but don’t know how.

All confused and stumped, about details of this case,

The doors opened up and she walked in the place,

I know what plagues him, said a beautiful face.

He’s suffered a lost of his love and grace,

He’s felt so much hurt, now his hearts in disgrace.

Just who are you doctor, and what is the deal,

Well he searched for me to see if loves real,

And I’m not a doctor, I have no PHD,

He died from a broken heart; he died because of me...

I really really like this poem! It shot chills through my spine, because I can relate to every word you wrote. Fantastic Piece!

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
