Our Life Together
I wake up to find you sleep,
Covered by sheets, except pedicured feet
I think to myself, how life is sweet
Because you’re my wife and life is a treat
I kiss your forehead, and then you smile
But you stay asleep at least for a while
I quietly leave to make your meal,
A wonderful breakfast to me a big deal
I get the plates and cups to serve,
Showing my wife all she deserves
Thinking of you, words are never lost
Little one asks to help, I tell him of course
Making breakfast for mom, as best we can
No menu for this, not according to plan
All finished up and ready to feed
Another smile from you is all I need
You wake up and smile, and ask if it’s true
Our life is special, because of my days with you.
