Somber Icy Spectacle
Dark and DeepDarker and Deeper
Immersed am I in these waters.
I see no light
For there is no light
That extends to the waters I drift.
You know the sting of frost you feel when the wind has pinned your warmth?
I live in that cold.
I breathe in that ice.
Trillions of stings make my skin,
But somehow is does not define me.
I follow through with the prickly sheets
that beat the sands against themselves.
Though existing within tsunamis of cold
they do not engulf me and pass.
I fall behind the waves forsaken,
Distilled from their momentum.
The frost bites me once more.
