Poem Commentary

January 18, 2010 ...half a hour passed midnight...

Elusion

I watch the world calmly,
hidden behind the glass.
From the frame I see
the lives who kindly pass.

The girl who walks her dog
blithely linked to a friend.
A boy gone by on bike
within the wind has blend.

Sometimes when I look up,
I can see my small face.
Then I begin to note
my features of disgrace.

I force my eyes away,
and turn them to the ground.
A haven of distraction
from the world I am bound.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
