Salvation

Salvation

And rage is not within
Your grace.
Refusing salvation
To save face
Choosing to believe
There’s no choice.
Turning away from
The truth in my voice.
And trusting me isn’t easy
The lies I’ve told.
Denying what
Comes back on you twofold.
Believing what I need
Isn’t within my grasp.
And hiding from you
Behind this mask.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
