    Guile

    I see no beauty,
    Angled ‘neath your smile.
    Nor warmth in your eyes.

    And anger, I dream,
    Concealed ‘neath your guile.
    Transparent to me.

    The depth of my rage
    You bathe and defile,
    To assuage your guilt.

    You reek of distaste
    Claiming love all the while.
    You look down your nose.

    And traces of heat
    That held back the bile
    I save for your lust.

    No quarter given
Though we’ve gone the full mile.
    Left only at rest
    Within something so vile

The rhyme scheme cleverly helps evoke the disquieting feeling of nausea and disgust. Superb!

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
