Escape

Tempted to escape

From realities cage

Dive into my dreams

Release all my rage

But who would be there?

If I never returned..

Content to be free

Leaving lessons unlearned

And what if I failed?

And couldn’t come back.

Because of bridges burned

And all that I lack

Where would I go?

Would it be worthwhile?

Just for a chance

At this new lifestyle.

And who could I turn to…

There isn’t anyone.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
