    Reality of Confusion

Everyday reality that we are living is a lie.

    Of comfort, impressionable magnitude

    of who we really are.

We lie to ourselves, everyday, unconsciously

    but inadvertently of shady notations.

Maybe we try to make ourselves feel better

Use faith as a crutch for the unknown.

We are dying and becoming invisible to our thoughts.

What we think we know we have no control

But it allows us to keep pretending that it is real.

Help me understand within a mind of confusion

Let me comprehend what may be an illusion.

Let me into this matter and molecules of life.

Knowing in the end of manageable time,

    It's all a lie.

A very interesting poem. Some of the things you touch on I just recently put in a poem called "Half-forgotten" where memory leaves us lost at times. Quite different from seeing the confusion as a lie. But nonetheless a confusion. But it so easy to fall into the delusion of the routine at times. I know what you are speaking about here. Yes every day I will agree we are dying to ourselves. The past that we have left behind is all ready set in stone. Those moments in time can not be altered or changed those thoughts are in our past.. We can not have a positive or negative impact on the time that has past. However we can know that we are truly alive and living if we take time to focus on the hear and now. Stop and ask yourself this? I you don't have faith or you don't believe in something what hope is there in obtaining a better future . If we decide to live life to the fullest today don't we gain the control of both what we create as our past and what we hope for in the unknown future? And to answer your question if you are reading this comment right now then most definitely I must say you are ALIVE!!!!!!! God Bless BikemanRJ

Thanks for taking the time to read this poem. I do agree with you. If we don't have faith or if we don't believe in something what hope is there in obtaining a better future . That is so true. I must admit I wrote this poem right after my father passed away in November 2008. At that moment of time my faith was gone in everything I believed in including God. Since then and since I learned to look at things differently, my faith is back on the right path. Everyone keeps telling me that it is better to believe in God then not to believe in him at all.

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.
