Musings
Wondering how to sort through the shelf in my mind
so many books, so many questions, answers hard to find,
which way do I turn?
what is it within me that is making me yearn?
to find a way through the chaos and the dreams
to see past all that, to whats unseen,
to the person beneath the pain
the smile that comes out even when it rains,
to see what truely lies beneath the tears
the girl behind all the fears,
to see who I really am,
is there more to me than just misery?
something I can feel other than fury?
there are so many things that I want to do
trying to push past everything I've been through,
why is it so hard to just let go?
and let the real me show?
its time to throw the mask to the ground
let everyone marvel at what I've found,
underneath all the pain there is still me
an exciting person yearning to be set free,
its not too late
even for those who thought I sealed my fate,
for I have so much ahead of me
so many things to do, so many to see,
it is possibly for me to be happy
and just be free.
so many books, so many questions, answers hard to find,
which way do I turn?
what is it within me that is making me yearn?
to find a way through the chaos and the dreams
to see past all that, to whats unseen,
to the person beneath the pain
the smile that comes out even when it rains,
to see what truely lies beneath the tears
the girl behind all the fears,
to see who I really am,
is there more to me than just misery?
something I can feel other than fury?
there are so many things that I want to do
trying to push past everything I've been through,
why is it so hard to just let go?
and let the real me show?
its time to throw the mask to the ground
let everyone marvel at what I've found,
underneath all the pain there is still me
an exciting person yearning to be set free,
its not too late
even for those who thought I sealed my fate,
for I have so much ahead of me
so many things to do, so many to see,
it is possibly for me to be happy
and just be free.
