Moveing Day

Moveing Day

Moving day will be made simple
there will be no packing of things
No need to hire a moving truck
No gathering of personal belongings
No changing of keys
filling out a change of address forms
no need to clean
just make sure am dress to the nines and play that song
Were Kurt Franklin plays a lot of horns this is a happy occasion
am going home
no more doctors
no more fears
no more loneliness
friends will be ever where
moving day will be made simple
give all my photos to my daughter
she will display them thu out the house she likes my smile
Give my lien to my son so he can wrap himself in my blankets
to keep warm it will be like a hug
give my clothes to the poor
split the furniture between the other two boys
now send me home I'll be waiting for your arrival dinner
on the table and trust and believe the others will we right behind us
yeah this time moveing day will be simple.

You can take it with you when you go. just leave behind the blessed memory, that you left this home a better place than you found it.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
