    Joy's of Pregnancy

    The sound of your heart
    beating fast and rapidly
    throught a monitor
    placed on my belly.
    The kicking of your feet
    hitting my belly
to let me know your there.

    The time is coming,
    the pain is hurting.

    Laying in the hospital,
    no where to go,
    nurses coming and going.

    The time has come,
    the pain is worse.

    In walks the doctor,
    my legs go up,
    they tell me to push,
    but I have no feeling.

    You are coming closer
    to the light,
    to see the outside world.

    Watching in the doctors glasses,
    I see you pop out
and you are announced a baby girl.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
