HOW COME?
i've got a handful of hungry habits
i've got a head full of crazy ideas
i've got a mouthful of you can have it
and a belly full of wishing i did
i've got an ache in my heart
a sore in my nose
and a hole where my dreams use to be
so if everybody wants to be someone
how come nobody wants to be me
i've got a friend i keep in the closet
i've got a wall where i keep my back
i've got a bed where i keep a monster
and a book of positions and facts
i've got a hatchet to bury
a cross i can't bare
and voices that talk in my sleep
so if everybody wants to be someone
how come nobody wants to be me
i've got holes i keep in my pockets
for the money that i can't spend
and i've got a prayer and a soft spot
for landing when i crash again
i've got just enough rope
and not enough hope
and a whole lot of nowhere to be
so if everybody wants to be someone
how come nobody wants to be me
i've got a head full of crazy ideas
i've got a mouthful of you can have it
and a belly full of wishing i did
i've got an ache in my heart
a sore in my nose
and a hole where my dreams use to be
so if everybody wants to be someone
how come nobody wants to be me
i've got a friend i keep in the closet
i've got a wall where i keep my back
i've got a bed where i keep a monster
and a book of positions and facts
i've got a hatchet to bury
a cross i can't bare
and voices that talk in my sleep
so if everybody wants to be someone
how come nobody wants to be me
i've got holes i keep in my pockets
for the money that i can't spend
and i've got a prayer and a soft spot
for landing when i crash again
i've got just enough rope
and not enough hope
and a whole lot of nowhere to be
so if everybody wants to be someone
how come nobody wants to be me
