GIRL ON THE VERGE
the colonel and the fox tried to clip her wings
they plucked her tail feathers but couldn't make her sing
left with a broken promise she pawned her promise ring
then flew the coop and left them finger lickin'
daddy and the gum shoe searched for her high and low
her mother's in the pantry trying to let go
brother's in the barnyard scratching for some soul
but couldn't find a egg that wasn't chicken
now in the big city she slips out of her dress
swaying to the rhythm of her heaving breast
her face is made up but her mind is a mess
and she insist that obidience is a virtue
her pretty young submissive who always needs a ride
falls to her knees and swallows up her pride
recieving her lashes she's more than happy to abide
by the rule that it's not love unless it hurts you
with nothing left to loose she takes a leave of absence
from life between the sheets with married, bored and madness
she always took what for but couldn't take the business
she was always trading sooner for much later
the high the black once gave is now the beast outside her door
he breaks in with a vengence she falls lifeless to the floor
quickly hunky dory grabs his man in uniform
they flee the church but not in time to save her
they plucked her tail feathers but couldn't make her sing
left with a broken promise she pawned her promise ring
then flew the coop and left them finger lickin'
daddy and the gum shoe searched for her high and low
her mother's in the pantry trying to let go
brother's in the barnyard scratching for some soul
but couldn't find a egg that wasn't chicken
now in the big city she slips out of her dress
swaying to the rhythm of her heaving breast
her face is made up but her mind is a mess
and she insist that obidience is a virtue
her pretty young submissive who always needs a ride
falls to her knees and swallows up her pride
recieving her lashes she's more than happy to abide
by the rule that it's not love unless it hurts you
