Grimm

these blind eyes of mine
see as they want to see
a grain of life so fine
speculating what became of me
too dark to visualize
too powerful to remain
this pain will rise
to equally sustain
the emptiness within my breast
where heart beats no longer
the pressure upon my chest
growing ever stronger
still these blind eyes
see only dreams faded
when will they realize
my mind is only jaded
such deepening regret
for the story untold
a soul left only to forget
such visions sold
a higher bid for ground
solid beneath my feet
silence has fallen, death all around
for the grimm i am soon to meet

Perspective on self evaluation, one of life's most difficult challenges. Still working on mine, it keeps changing! AHHHH the Soul Work! You told your story well. Thank you for sharing.

Smooth transition. I love rhyming poems and to rhyme the odd and even lines fully throughout a poem is no easy feat, at least not to me. My eyes see as they want as well, falling deep into imagination and treading away from reality. Enjoyed the journey.
