A Wrinkle in Time

A Wrinkle in Time

It was a wrinkled moment in time
in the sand, by the sea
Your lips touched mine
the kiss that came so easily
As drop by drop, the rain fell
leaving dimples in the sand
The tide began to swell
but I was too weak to stand
Wrapped up in that magical moment
not wanting to let go
The last of my energy spent
on thoughts you'll never know
And the storm began to brew
the waves crashed against the shore
All I could see was you
and a love like no other before
So when the wind swept through
and the sand began to swirl around
A sad revealing of the truth
a soul that was heaven bound
When I finally opened my eyes
you were no longer there
Much to my surprise
was the flower in my hair
They say a love so strong
can never last
Now you're where you belong
and I'm still reliving the past
Wishing you had not passed away
In that wrinkled moment in time
Wish I had the chance to say
I loved the way your lips kissed mine.

Thank you, I appreciate that! :)

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
