    For Mother

There in the cradle the child lies
    Desperate for mother's affection
Mother is in the corner, cowering from the cries
    Afraid of her child's rejection
Upon cold cheeks these tears do fall
The scars they run too deep
A mother who could not give her all
To a child she did not want to keep
Now in the mirror, she looks but can not see
    The reality of her reflection
Baby in the cradle, that child is me
    Desperate for my mother's attention

definately some true to heart feelings and emotions went into this one!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
