From Spring til Fall I waited
Exactly when you would get here no one really knew.
So I got to work preparing your room not knowing pink or blue.
They said a baby girl is coming and I anticipated your arrival.
So I did my best to ready myself for the responsibility of your survival.
I knew that I would need to learn from you, as much as you would learn
from me. So I prayed to God for the insight and knowledge to be the best that I could be.
Finally the day is come, time for birthing class to be put to task. Who could know that for all of that waiting, the moment would quickly pass.
Those days are gone now and you are grown now, where oh where did they go?
They have gone to where all days go when time has told them so.
Days come and go at time's command this is an axiom true.
But the joy that comes from the birth of your child stays forever brand new.
