A Prayer for Rowanda

A Prayer for Rowanda

With a spoken word you gave the world light and with a single breath you gave man life.

Your Power and Wisdom are as endless as the sand and the Sun, Moon and Stars shine at your command.

You made the world turn so that we can have day and night and the changing of the seasons are at your delight.

So I know that there is nothing that you cannot do and that's why I leave my Love's healing entirely up to you.

Dear Lord as I pray for my beloved friend, I do so knowing that there is salve in your hands. Amen

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
