    Five Eights For Forty

    Five eights for forty

To take care of the wife and shorty

21st century slave working for the masses

Taking orders from all types of asses

Cause I was to cool for "me" classes

I was running the streets, now the streets run me

Cause you’re not really free till you got that degree

Have to work at a job that for me it doesn’t please

    Five eights for forty

To take care of the wife and shorty

Couldn’t make the grade too busy trying to get laid

The player who got played and now is underpaid

This jack of trades is just someone’s ditch spade

Chained to my trade for just minimum wage

Should’ve kept mind to page in my genital stage

But my hormones raged and I became engaged

    Five eights for forty

To take care of the wife and shorty

Got only street tools and I can’t break free of this cess pool

I’m a fool, stubborn as a mule missed all of schools jewels

Now men who couldn’t shine my shoes dictate the rules

Down deep their spurn is burned when will it be my turn

Cause they say you have to learn before you can earn

Now bills are my main concern for better days I yearn

    Five eights for forty

To take care of the wife and shorty

Living check to check, make only enough to pay rent

This makes no cents, I’m not content, got to represent

My income I must augment, my life, I have to reinvent,

Got to flip the script, hit the switch scratch that itch

Have to find my own niche, I’m supposed to be rich

wasn’t born into this world to be anyone’s bitch

    Five eights for forty

To take care of the wife and shorty

This is not going to be my life at forty !

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
