Curious Motives

  • My writings are far and fewer between these days. At least I've started working on refining what I post.

Poem Commentary

Sometimes we must admit that we feel simply and delightfully evil.

Curious Motives

I am deception at it finest,
No I can never tell a lie,
So people tend to trust me,
This simple devil in disguise.
And though I hold my tongue
I can't always bare it's leash
And often it is sharper
Than the bite of these teeth
Hidden are my motives,
Though disappointed you may be
I am torn in two directions
Though my plan you'll never see
To throw them from the heights
Or too pull them from the ledge?
Yes, I would save you in an instance
But first I want to see you beg
My heart has frozen over
Or perhaps ripped right from this chest
But I warn, be careful of my curiosity
That's what motivates me best

I noticed typo's. This probably should not have been entered into the weekly contest.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
