Christ in You

Poem Commentary

This poem gets to the heart of what God has wanted since the world began. Sons and daughters with His spirit inside, so He could talk and fellowship with us as a Father should.

Christ in You

Christ in you

Having Christ in you the hope of glory

Is just the beginning of the rest of the story

Being born again made whole set apart

Is the very essence of our joyful heart

Being called of God since the world began

Was the greatest secret known to man

Judean and Gentile of the same mold

Is what God’s plan was now it’s been told

Had the Devil known this part of the story

He never would have crucified the Lord of glory

But God keeps a secret better than anyone known

For it was for Him to know, yes just Him alone

His son was part of the plan, yet unknown to him

How his obedience even unto death would cause us to win

But it was in the resurrection that he was blown away

For he thought once he was dead, dead he would stay

Then Pentecost arrived yes it fully came

This gave us the ball, now we entered the game

Manifesting power from on high

Knowing were seated up, way up in the sky

Walking here on earth, holding forth the words of life

Healing the sick and helping others overcome there strife

Ministry and word of reconciliation are ours now this I know

For speaking the truth in love is how we grow

Awaiting the return of His son is the source of our hope

Knowing this truth allows us to cope

Nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ His son

It’s Christ in me and you, the victory has been won

This makes me want to cry. Also being a devoted Christ lover, this moves me. Very, very good job.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
