    AN ODE TO ZAINA

The stars are bright and glittering
The skies are clear and blue
    Jingle Bells' joyful ringing
    Dearest Zaina 's for you

Your face is cute with innocence
    Hope is filling your eyes
You'll fill our life with happiness
    With your giggles and cries

Jana and Hashem loved the change
    A new baby at home
Sister of Jana, but a toy
    For Hashem, what a boom!

I held you in my arms with joy
    I kissed you with delight
How could you, Zaina, from day one
Fill my world with such light?

I think of you and yearn for you
    While you're nursed unaware
    Coloring grandpa's happy dreams
    And Grandma's everywhere

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
