    Waiting

    Sitting on a hill top
    Waiting for the wind
Waiting for a sign from God
    To tell me to begin
    Sitting on a hilltop
    Waiting for a breeze
    Pleading with the heavens
    Please, please, please
    But no answer or relief
    Just blue skies
    Empty clouds
    No wind
    No breeze
    No mist
To put my body at ease
    Waiting on a hilltop
As the moon lulls me to sleep
    Waiting for tomorrow
    Waiting for release

I like the sense of rhyme and alliteration "waiting for the wind", it is disturbing and dark although I think the signs she is looking for are around her, blue skies, the lull of the moon but misinterpreted. I like this considering the subject matter...

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
