Poem Commentary

This is another poem bout Eddie.

Unknown Name

When he walks in

The room, everyone sees

A guy that’s tall, dark, and

Handsome. But only if

They could see all the

Rest of you. If they

Knew that you’re the

Brother, son, friend and

Husband that everyone

Wants. Would they still

See the same or just

Want you more. If they

All heard the wonderful

Advice that you share with

All those who need it. Or

Hear about all the many

Other amazing things that

You do. In the end would

They still only see you for

Your good looks, or would

They see you for who you

Truly are…..

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
