A Friend Who Is Always There

Searching high and low, for that one

Person you can trust, that you can

Turn to, but never finding them. Then

I meet you. When I needed someone

To talk to, I always knew I could

Turn to you. When things seem to

Go the wrong way, and life just seems

Like there’s no reason to keep going.

And when things in life that hurt you

Deeply and never now where to go. All

I have to do, is remember that I got a

Friend like you. Who is always there,

In the hard times or the easy times.

Though sticks and stones, and broken

Bones, I know I will always have a

Friend that is true and loyal, cause

    I got you……

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
