Poem Commentary

This is a poem that I wrote for Royal of One Flew South. I have had the honor of getting to know him. I don't know him really good but I can tell you that he is an amazing man. Anyone who knows him is very lucky.

You come into the room,

And the ladies start going

Crazy for a single handsome

Man. All of them wanting

You, but they don’t want

To take the time to see

Who you really are. They

Don’t see the pain that

You have been through.

Or the sweet amazing guy

That you are.  And all the

Other great things about

You. Only if they would

They would see a talented

Handsome single dad, that

Is amazing. They would

Also see a man that has

Been throught a lot and

Still continues on.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
