Poem Commentary

To my daughter's deaded beat dad. I'm tired of seeing my baby cry.

Tired of It All

I do not need to ask,
How could you do this to me?
We are both over the past.
It doesn't matter, really.

But the the question that plagues my mind,
Is, how could you do this to her?
Of all the people in the world,
Do you know how bad she hurts?

She is suppose to be your baby girl.
Your sweet little princess.
But u seem to have passed her over,
For some other chick's kids.

You spend all your time with her and them.
You treat them like your own.
But what about OUR daughter?
Doesn't she matter to you anymore?

I don't know how to answer,
The questions that she asks,
Like, "Doesnt daddy love me?",
How the hell do I answer that?

"What did I do wrong mommy?
Why isn't daddy here?
Dosen't he want me anymore?"
It's a tear filled voice I hear.

I'm tired of covering up for you.
I'm tired of lieing to her sweet, little face.
It's time for you to come clean,
Or finally leave us in peace.

Another heart felt write. Great job!! I can't imagine trying to answer those questions and how a parent could neglect their own blood. Hang in there and just be honest to her, that is all you can really do. Very moving, made me want to call my son because I'm out of town.

I liked it. I have never been in that situation so cannot identify much, however I do have a son and when his father is gone, He lets me know that its not right. Could she go with them? or him? Or maybe find a real dad? Just ideas. Anyway, this is nicely done and the mesage was right on time. Write on.........Tlady

The depth of emotions you put into your words are very touching and heart wrenching. A child should never be made to feel less due to a parent’s neglect. Parents who shuttle in and out of their children’s lives are selfish and undeserving of the title of a parent.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
