The Things You Did To Me
You left,
And in doing that you left me blind.
Your gone,
And in being so I feel as if I have died.
Bruised and beaten, battered and torn.
That is the way my heart feels.
Give up, it's over, your not important.
That is how my mind reels.
You did all this and more,
Without a backward glance.
Was I really nothing to you?
Was I just a fleeting dance?
That dance meant so much to me.
Obviously, it didn't mean much to you.
Now I have to piece together my heart,
But where do I find that kind of glue?
How could you do this to me?
How can you simply not care?
Is your heart made of stone?
Do you give everyone that icy stare?
You should really try opening your heart.
It might bring you back to life.
Not everyone is out to hurt you.
Not everyone wants to see you cry.
Maybe one day you will realize this.
Maybe there is hope for you yet.
But today is not the day of your awakening.
So today I remain alone.
