Time travel
I wish I could build a clock and turn back time,
Make a remote control of the world and press rewind.
Start at the now and go back to the then, rewrite history,
with a point of the pen.
Build a time machine and set the dials back,
fill in the missing pieces, of then I lacked.
Turn life into a video game and press restart,
build the pieces back in to a whole, of my heart.
Reverse the forward motion, into a backwards slide.
Grab hold of the oceans and turn back the tide.
Not wanting a "this", but craving a "that",
Back to a before stand, from a now sat.
Flip back the hour glass and get my minutes back,
Keeping better record and never forgetting to keep track.
Why cant the world quit spinning, when you want it to stop?
My world keeps spinning, out of control, like an insane top.
I want to be new again, instead of being old.
Relive the story anew, instead of living memories, already told.
